CSO arrests man for two burglaries

A Shreveport man is in jail for breaking into two residences – one where a family was sleeping, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Jordan Brett Bowlin, 18, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for a residential burglary Feb. 11 in the 500 block of Harris Lane and another residential burglary Feb. 7 in the 400 block of Goldsberry Circle.

On Harris Lane, the homeowner was awakened by a security alarm around 3:20 a.m. He checked the house and noticed only an open side garage door. Around 9 a.m., the same morning, his wife’s purse was found in the trash at a convenience store at Bert Kouns and I-49. Video from the store showed a man in a black vehicle disposing of the purse, said arresting detective Terry Richardson.

Bowlin was later identified as the driver of that vehicle after it was learned the same vehicle was the subject of a traffic stop by Caddo Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Presley four days earlier.

Bowlin also is accused of breaking into the Goldsberry Circle house on Feb. 7 where firearms and other items were taken.

Additional arrests in both cases are pending.
