A Vivian man is back in jail for failing to comply with new requirements for convicted sex offenders.

James Gibson, 44, of Vivian, was booked into Caddo Correctional Center for failing to register as a sex offender after he delayed in registering with the Sheriff's Office. A new law that went into effect January 1 requires offenders to register within three days of their release from jail.

Gibson is the first person arrested by the Caddo Sheriff's Office for not complying with the changes in the law.
