Caddo Sheriff's Office to sell unclaimed animals

Donkeys, horses, and sheep will go up for public sale next week after their owners either released them to the Caddo Sheriff's Office or failed to claim their loose livestock.

The Sheriff's Office will accept sealed bids on the animals from 8 a.m. until noon Wednesday, March 28, at the 4910 North Market Street substation.

The animals include seven donkeys (five jacks and two jennies). Three were owner released. The others were found near Jefferson-Paige/Standard Oil roads in west Caddo Parish, Caldwell-Briggs Road in north Caddo Parish, Hwy. 530 at Clyde Place Road in Vivian, and Old Atlanta Road in Vivian.

The horses were all owner released and include a 7-year-old brown and white paint gelding, a 7-year-old sorrel mare, and a 10-month-old stud colt.

Two Barbarossa sheep found in the area of Buncombe Road and Hwy. 169 will also be sold to the highest bidder.

For more information contact Sgt. Doyle Smith at 681-1120.
