Caddo sheriff’s deputies were called to a major accident that sent one woman to the hospital this afternoon.

The 51-year-old woman was eastbound on I-20 west of the Hwy. 80 overpass when her vehicle left the road, crossed the median, and hit an asphalt crossover. The vehicle flipped over at least once and slid a number of feet, coming to rest on the side of the road facing westbound traffic.

The woman was able to get out of the overturned vehicle and was taken to LSUHSC by Fire District #3. Her condition is not currently known.

The woman’s identification has not been released pending contact with her family.
