Two CPSO deputies lauded

Two Caddo Sheriff’s deputies received recognition recently for outstanding service to law enforcement and the community.

Jonathan Kennedy, a five-year deputy assigned to Investigations, received the local Outstanding Law Officer Award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 2238. Kennedy also placed second among Louisiana law officers being considered for the statewide VFW award.

Kennedy, a former U.S. Marine, has served on the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team at the Caddo Correctional Center and the Special Response Team assisting with high-risk search warrants, barricaded suspects, hostage rescue, and dignitary protection. As a narcotics investigator, he has been responsible for numerous felony arrests and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and cash.

Charles Bradford, a 27-year deputy also assigned to Investigations, was honored by the River Bend Rotary with its Service Above Self Award.

Bradford was recognized for solving numerous crimes involving persons and property and for the recovery of stolen property.

Both men were recognized for their dedication to duty, which included spending numerous hours on investigations outside of normal work hours to improve the quality of life for Caddo Parish residents.
