The Galvez Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented its Outstanding Service Award this week to Caddo Sheriff’s Cpl. George Moore for his contributions to law enforcement and the community.

Moore is a 22-year veteran of the Caddo Sheriff’s Office. He has served as a DARE instructor for 12 years, but also has worked in Corrections, Patrol, and served on the department’s Hazardous Materials Team and Special Response Team. As a DARE instructor, he teaches over 2000 children in kindergarten through fifth grades at six elementary schools each year.

“Law enforcement and firefighters are held in high esteem by the SAR organization,” said SAR representative Mark Williams. “The contributions to the community by these fine men and women do not go without notice. It is the SAR organization’s honor to recognize the individuals of selection.
