The Caddo Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that claimed the life of one person north of Hosston this morning. Cpl. Mike Vaitkus said a tractor-trailer “bobtail” (no trailer attached) was traveling southbound on Hwy. 71 when its driver moved into the northbound lane on a hill to pass another vehicle. In doing so, the driver moved into the path of a northbound SUV. The driver of the bobtail then continued off the road and rolled several times, finally coming to rest upside down. The driver was ejected and pinned underneath the cab. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The accident is under investigation by the Caddo Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
