Georgia man returned to Caddo to face theft charge

A Georgia man accused of stealing money from a local business then fleeing out of state is back in Caddo Parish, this time behind bars.

William Franklin Hill, 49, of Atlanta, GA, was extradited to Louisiana on Friday on a felony theft warrant obtained by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring. Hill was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center after being picked up by the Caddo Sheriff’s Office Warrant’s Division in Las Vegas.

Hill is accused of using a check fraud scheme to purchase $37,490 in gold from Louisiana Gold and Jewelry. He then sold the gold for cash and gambled with the money at local casinos.

His bond on the theft charge is set at $100,000.00.
