Two people were arrested Tuesday for operating meth labs in Caddo Parish, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw.

Agents with the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Task Force received tips from citizens about labs at 5915 Jefferson Paige Road and 6329 South Lakeshore Drive.

On Jefferson Paige, the suspect, 30-year-old Raymond Gipson, was living in a friend’s shed and using the location to produce meth. Agents said Gipson was in possession of four clandestine labs, all of which were located in the backyard shed.

Gipson was arrested for manufacturing schedule II narcotics and possession of a clandestine lab.

In a related investigation, 50-year-old Kelly Johnson was arrested for possession of a clandestine lab after agents found an active lab in the back of her Dodge Ram truck parked in the driveway at 6329 South Lakeshore Drive.  There were also items used to manufacture meth discovered in the garage.

Agents said all labs were explosive in nature, but rendered them safe before calling for a Baton Rouge clean-up crew to dispose of the hazardous chemicals. Caddo Fire District 3 also responded.

Both Gipson and Johnson were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
