The Caddo Sheriff’s Office is advising property owners to pay their taxes by Monday, May 12, to avoid having their property included in the upcoming tax sale.

The Sheriff’s on-line tax sale is scheduled for May 13-15. About 2,739 properties – land, commercial, and residential – will be listed for sale if taxes are not paid before then.

Property owners can check the Caddo Sheriff’s website at www.caddosheriff.org if they are unsure whether their properties will be for sale. Click on the Sheriff’s/Tax Sales button and then the CivicSource auction link to view the Caddo Parish auction. Click the “register” button on CivicSource to sign up as a buyer.

Payments must be received by 5 p.m. Monday to avoid inclusion in the sale. Tax Director Bobby Williams said to ensure that payment is received, payments should be made on-line or in person at the Caddo Courthouse - not by mail.

During the sale, computers will be available at the Caddo Parish Courthouse for the public to register and participate in the bidding process.  

On-line information will include a list of properties, a plotted map, satellite images of the properties, the amount of delinquent taxes owed, and answers to general questions about the tax sale process.
