National Night Out is being celebrated in Caddo Parish on October 4. Applications from the Caddo Sheriff's Office are now available for citizens of unincorporated areas of Caddo Parish who would like to close their streets for National Night Out block parties.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator has made available a prescription drug take back box where Caddo Parish citizens can dispose of unused or expired prescription medications. The box is located in the lobby of Government Plaza at 505 Travis Street in Shreveport and is available to the public between 8 a.m.

A Corrections Deputy is also afforded an ongoing opportunity to demonstrate their willingness to further their careers in Law Enforcement by successfully passing a more strenuous criteria for entry into the Peace Officer Standards of Training (P.O.S.T) certified academy.
