Caddo deputies arrested a man who is now under investigation by Shreveport Police for several overnight armed robberies.
Kevin D. Young, 19, of Keithville, was booked into Caddo Correctional Center for resisting arrest and battery on a police officer after he was apprehended by deputies offering assistance with the robberies.

Caddo Sheriff's dispatchers alerted deputies of the robberies after the first one occurred at a convenience store in the city around 1 a.m. Deputy John Hay spotted an SUV in the area a short while later, and although he had no suspect vehicle information, made a note of the vehicle's license number. Hay spotted the same vehicle about 15 minutes later, shortly after a man wearing a bandana tried to gain entry into another nearby convenience store.

Hay pulled the vehicle over in the 6900 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and attempted to arrest the driver, Kevin Young, who fit the description of the suspect. Young pushed Hay and struck him in the chest and dropped a magazine to a pistol in the process. While Hay was preventing Young from getting back into his vehicle, he ordered Young to stop and get on the ground, but Young disregarded the commands and fled on foot.

Caddo deputies apprehended Young on Westport Avenue a short while later. Young's vehicle and other evidence were turned over to Shreveport Police, who are investigating the robberies.
