A local tax preparer was arrested Tuesday for identity theft for trying to collect a client’s refund, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Latrisha Beaudoin, 39, of the 8700 block of Emerald Loop, turned herself in at the Caddo Correctional Center on a warrant obtained by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring.

Beaudoin was a tax preparer and changed bank account information on an individual’s tax return in an effort to steal the refund. The IRS sent a refund of $4,382 to the account. After investigating, it was learned the bank account the refund was transferred to belonged to Beaudoin.
