Two brothers under investigation in separate crashes
For the second time in less than a month, a member of one local family is under investigation for his part in a major vehicle crash.
Caddo Sheriff's deputies say Billy G. Wright Jr., 20, was southbound on Old Atlanta Road north of Vivian around 6:40 p.m. Monday night when he entered a curve, lost control of his vehicle, and hit a tree. Wright suffered serious injuries and was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center by North Caddo EMS. Caddo Fire District #8 also responded.
Wright, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and had an open container in his Chevy Blazer, was cited for first-degree vehicular negligent injury, having an expired driver's license, and not wearing a seat belt.
During their investigation, deputies also cited Billy Wright's brother, 18-year-old David Wright, who caused a disturbance when he arrived at the scene and interfered with patient care. David Wright was taken into custody for disturbing the peace. He also was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and Valium and was booked for possession of schedule IV and II.
David Wright is currently under investigation for a double fatality that occurred January 18 in Rodessa which killed his younger brother Kevin Wright and Ashley Alexander, both 17. Witnesses reported David Wright was driving at a high rate of speed before the crash. Drugs were also found in the vehicle.
(Note: We have no permanent address on either of the Wrights. They reside in the East Texas-North Caddo areas. Their last known address was Bloomburg, TX. David is currently in CCC.)
