An ATV crash in north Caddo Parish claimed the life of a Vivian man early this morning, according to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Deputies were called to 10186 Cross Creek Private Drive around midnight after the driver, 40-year-old David L. Terry, hit an embankment and flipped his side-by-side vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed down the drive. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. A passenger, whose name was not available this morning, was belted and received only minor injuries.

Terry was transported to North Caddo Hospital by North Caddo EMS. He was pronounced dead the hospital.

Terry was hosting a gathering at his residence on Cross Creek when the crash occurred.  The Caddo Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit is investigating whether alcohol played a part in the crash.
