Eight cited for disturbing the peace at local high school

Eight people were cited by Caddo Sheriff’s deputies for their involvement in a disturbance at Southwood High School this morning, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Around 8:25 a.m. as students were being dropped off to start their day, an argument involving parents and students broke out in the front breezeway near the bus ramp. The exchange involved yelling, posturing, and profanity but did not include physical blows or fighting.

School faculty members witnessed the dispute and alerted the Caddo deputy who serves as the school resource officer. The SRO and other patrol deputies who responded separated the people involved and issued each a summons for disturbing the peace.

The incident is still being reviewed but it’s believed to be part of an ongoing disagreement involving the juveniles and their parents.
