A contractor has been arrested after taking advantage of two elderly people, said Caddo sheriff Steve Prator.

Dennis Ray Davis Jr., 31, accepted $1,800 from an 81 year-old home owner to build a fence. Davis took the cash and never showed to do the work. Davis later demanded an additional $1,500 before he would start the job. The victim’s 91 year-old friend paid the $1,500 to Davis hoping he would build the fence. After receiving payment, Davis never built the fence nor purchased any materials.

Sheriff’s Detective Casey Jones investigated the case and obtained an arrest warrant for Davis. He was later arrested by Caddo deputies while sitting in the lobby of the Caddo Parish Courthouse. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for two counts of theft of the assets of an aged or disabled person.
