A pedestrian who was hit while crossing Mansfield Road this morning has died.

Karen Scroggins, 58, was crossing the street in the 12000 block of Mansfield Road just after 6:30 a.m. when she was hit by a northbound Toyota Tercel. Scroggins was a Caddo Parish bus driver and parked her bus across the road from her residence, also in the 12000 block of Mansfield. She was walking to her bus to begin her route when the accident occurred, said Sgt. Carl Henderson.

Scroggins was taken by ambulance to University Health where she later died.

No charges have been filed. The accident remains under investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
