A man has died following a fatality accident on Springridge Texas State Line Road Monday night, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Just before 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a major crash involving two vehicles in the 9000 block of Springridge Texas State Line Road. Hattie Hines, 78, of Keithville, was driving a Nissan Altima westbound when a GMC Envoy driven by Brian Fatheree, 29, of Coushatta, pulled out in front of her. The Envoy was struck on its passenger side and traveled off road where it came to rest.

Hines' passenger, 76-year-old Wayne Hines of Keithville, died at the scene. Hattie Hines was admitted to University Health. Fatheree and his passenger, Monica Williams, 27, of Keithville, both sustained moderate injuries.

Fatheree was issued citations for failure to yield and having an open container that belonged to his passenger inside his vehicle. He volunteered to undergo chemical testing, which determined he had not consumed alcohol. 

The crash is being investigated by the Caddo Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
