Bossier City man charged in connection with fatal crash

LEE, CEDRIC
DOB: 10/04/1965
Race: B   Sex: M
Height: 5.10   Weight: 212

The investigation into a fatal accident on LA Hwy. 1 this past month has resulted in charges against one of the drivers, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

The crash occurred on the afternoon of April 9 just south of Mooringsport. A 1998 Ford Ranger driven by Cedric Lee, 51, of Bossier City, was traveling the wrong way on the divided highway when he hit an oncoming vehicle. His passenger, Calvin George, 55, of Shreveport was pronounced dead at the scene. The oncoming vehicle - a 2005 Ford F-150 – was occupied by Gary and Viola Harris of Vivian. They were transported to University Health with serious injuries.

The crash was investigated by Caddo Sheriff’s Cpl. Jack Anderson and deputies with the CPSO Traffic Safety Unit. Alcohol was determined to be a factor. As a result of the investigation, Caddo District Judge Ramona Emmanuel signed a warrant for Lee for one count of vehicular homicide and two counts of first-degree vehicular negligent injuring. His bond was set at $250,000.

Lee was arrested at his residence on Wednesday by the Bossier City Police Department. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center today.
