A Bivins, Texas, man died in a one-vehicle crash north of Vivian on Monday, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., Audie Whatley was traveling south on LA Hwy. 1 when his Chevrolet Silverado ran off the road.  The truck traveled through a ditch and then struck a culvert and a utility pole.  Whatley, 79, was transported to University Health by ambulance where he died, according to Cpl. Ken Davis.

An investigation is ongoing by the Caddo Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
