The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission for increased traffic enforcement, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The grant will be used to provide extra-duty enforcement targeting DWI, Occupant Protection (seatbelt, child safety seat), and speed through September 30, 2019.

Prator said the $86,860 grant will provide about 2,170 hours of increased patrols and checkpoints to target these most deadly violations.
