Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator recognized several deputies during a ceremony today honoring them for promotions, lifesaving efforts, and years of service.

Robert Presley, a 13-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, was promoted to sergeant. Presley joined the Sheriff’s Office in August 2005 and has worked in Corrections, Patrol, and Criminal Investigations/Financial Crimes. He is also a member of the department's Special Response Team. Presley now serves as a patrol supervisor in south Caddo Parish.

Deputy Marc Herring received the department’s Lifesaving Award for giving aid to a woman who suffered an arterial laceration. Herring encountered the woman during a traffic stop. After seeing her injury, Herring grabbed his medic bag and applied a tourniquet to the woman’s arm to stop the bleeding. He radioed for the fire department to be dispatched to his location and stayed with the woman to keep her calm until they arrived.

Employees recognized for their years of service with the Sheriff’s Office were: Roberta Adams, Justin Sundquist, Evelyn Tanoli, Cassie Turner, and Randy Leone, 5 years; Willie Alex, Clarence Harrington, Kevin Harris, Jared Marshall, Trellus McCain, Ronnie Smith, and George Spillers, 15 years; James Rambo, 20 years; Donna Jackson, 25 years; and Martha Bryant, 30 years.
