Caddo and Bossier rescue teams will deploy to Baton Rouge as part of the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association Task Force, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
The deputies and equipment were requested by Louisiana State Fire Marshal Butch Browning in support of rescue efforts associated with Tropical Storm Barry. Sheriff Prator, who serves as the North Louisiana Task Force Director, along with Sheriff Whittington will be joining deputies at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office substation on Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. The teams will leave together for Baton Rouge.
Sheriff Prator and deputies will be available to the news media for interviews prior to departure.
