As the Memorial Day holiday approaches, Caddo deputies are gearing up to participate in the national “Click it or Ticket” seatbelt campaign, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
Deputies locally will be joining other law enforcement agencies around the country to step up enforcement of seat belt laws May 18-31. Their overtime efforts will be paid for with funding provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC).
The campaign, which is aimed at enforcing seat belt use to help keep people safe, runs concurrent with the busy travel season.
“Buckling up is one of the easiest things you can do to stay safe and save a life,” Prator said. “The Caddo Sheriff’s Office takes it very seriously each and every day. There’s just no good excuse for not buckling up. Every trip. Every time.“
