The Caddo Sheriff’s Office and Shreveport Fire Department are investigating the discovery of an incendiary device found at the Caddo Courthouse this morning, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Sometime during the night, a person or persons threw a Molotov cocktail at the entry door of the courthouse on the Milam Street side. The device consisted of a glass bottle, rag, and flammable liquid. It appeared the rag had been set on fire, but the device did not ignite.

The device was discovered by CPSO Courthouse Security as they opened the doors for morning traffic at the courthouse.

The Sheriff's Office is reviewing surveillance video at the courthouse for more information.
