Shreveport man arrested; drugs seized from apartment, storage units

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and Police Chief Ben Raymond announced the arrest of 58-year-old William Brooks on drug charges following an investigation by the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Task Force.

Brooks was arrested on September 24 after agents executed a search warrant at his apartment at 6171 West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. At the time the warrant was conducted, Brooks, his wife, and their four children under the age of 15 were at the apartment.

During the search, agents located 116 grams of meth tablets, 226 grams of powder cocaine, 96 grams of crack cocaine, 84 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, packaging material, $639, and a ledger. They also located a safe for which another warrant was obtained. Once it was opened, they found $25,826, a .45 caliber Astra handgun, and a .380 caliber Bryco handgun stolen out of Juneau, Alaska.

Upon further investigation, Brooks was tied to multiple storage units at Iron Guard Storage. Warrants were executed on seven storage units where agents located 56 grams of methamphetamine tablets, 13 grams of powder cocaine, 8 hydrocodone tablets, 46 grams of marijuana, 53 grams of methamphetamine, 21 grams of crack cocaine, packaging material, digital scales, a 9mm Taurus handgun, and a 6.5 Grendel Rifle stolen out of Bossier City.

Brooks was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for Possession of Schedule II with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, CDS with a Minor, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, and Firearm with CDS.
