A Shreveport man was arrested on drug charges following an investigation by the DEA Task Force and the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Antonio Lamant Ware, 43, of the 600 block of West 69th Street, was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 27. He was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center the following day for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm with CDS.
Ware came under investigation in November when agents learned he was in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine. A search of a residence in the 2900 block of Baird Road, which was connected to Ware, led to the recovery of one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of methamphetamine, approximately four ounces of cocaine, a small amount of Ecstasy, and three handguns.
Federal proceedings involving Ware are pending.
