Highway 80 reopens following major crash

Highway 80 is back open following a fiery crash involving three vehicles on Friday, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

A call about a crash came in just before noon on Friday. Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies quickly responded and found two vehicles on fire, and a third destroyed. Preliminary investigation has determined that a gray pick-up truck was driving eastbound on Highway 80 when it crossed over onto oncoming traffic, hitting another pick-up truck head-on. Then, a third vehicle crashed into the back of the second pick-up truck.

The wrong-way driver ended up on the side of the road, while the other two vehicles went up in flames.

Caddo Fire District 3 transported two people to an area hospital. CPSO deputies are awaiting the results of a test to determine if the wrong-way driver was intoxicated. The investigation continues.
