Caddo Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal car wreck in the northern part of the parish, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The car accident involving a single vehicle took place around 1:17 p.m. on U.S. Highway 71, just north of LA Highway 169 in Belcher. Caddo deputies say the driver drove off the road and crashed into a ditch. Life Air Rescue arrived to transport the man to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives with the Caddo Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office have been notified to assist in determining the cause of the crash.
