Caddo Sheriff’s Youth Services detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 6-year-old boy with non-life-threatening injuries, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
The shooting occurred just after 5 p.m. in the 3300 block of Seminole Drive in Shreveport. Detectives say the boy found the weapon and accidentally shot himself in the hand. He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health for surgery. Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine the owner of the gun.
No arrests have been made in this incident.
