Student arrested for school threats

An 18-year-old student was arrested today for making threats involving school safety, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
The arrest came after a student, Jalisa Edwards, showed her mother a text message that possible harmful acts would be carried out at the school.
After further investigation by Caddo Sheriff’s Juvenile Detective Christopher Ardoin and the Caddo Sheriff’s Cyber Crimes Division, it was determined that Edwards sent the messages to herself and other students.
Edwards was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for Menacing.
