Update: CPSO detectives investigate double homicide


 

Caddo patrol deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 3600 block of Back Path Road in Blanchard to conduct a residential check, said Sheriff Jay Long. 

 

About 11:30pm last night, a resident saw a male fitting the description of Michael McKnight, 26, the person of interest from a Homicide that occurred on April 18 in the 5900 block of Attaway Hill Lane, on their security camera. 

 

A perimeter was established near the area and Walter B. Jacob Park by Caddo patrol deputies along with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force, Caddo K9 deputies and David Wade Correction Chase Team. 

 

According to Caddo patrol Sgt. Larry Pierce, McKnight was located in a primitive shelter he setup underneath a fallen tree inside the park. 

 

McKnight was captured by Caddo Sheriff’s K9 - Corporal Marc Herring on scene taken to CID for further investigation by sheriff’s detectives. 
 

After further investigations, Detective Matt Purgerson arrested McKnight for the murder of the two victims, Roderick McKnight, 64, and Kathleen McKnight, 62 who both were deceased at their residence on Attaway Hill Lane. 

 

Michael McKnight was booked into Caddo Correction Center for two counts of second-degree murder.
