Hunters who need hunter safety education certification can participate inclass on-line or in a classroom setting through the Caddo Sheriff’s Office, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

For those who want on-line instruction, a one-hour class to get started will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at the Caddo Correctional Center. After completing the remainder of the course work at home, participants will be required to attend a field day session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 24 at the Caddo Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy on Highway One South.

For those who prefer a classroom setting, two hunter safety sessions will be held: Oct 12, 13, and 15, and Oct. 26, 27, and 29. Classes will be held each night from 6-10 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town located at 8910 Jewella Avenue.

There is no charge for any of the classes. For more information about on-line training, contact Cpl. Richard Smith at the Academy at 681-0735. To register for the classroom sessions, contact Deputy Angie Wilson at Sheriff’s Safety Town at 698-7233.
