The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a fatal crash that took place on Highway 1 Northbound, between Scarpengo Road and Roy Road Extension.

At 5:22 p.m., deputies were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1. A silver Chevy truck traveling south crossed into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a Ford Edge and side-swiped a Toyota Camry. 

The driver of the Ford was deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevy sustained internal injuries and was transported to Ochsner Medical Center by Life Air. The driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries and was taken to Willis-Knighton Bossier by Fire District One.

Both northbound lanes are currently closed. Deputies advise travelers to avoid this section of the highway.
