A student from Captain Shreve has been arrested for battery against a dating partner earlier today, according to Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.
Deputy Rivera, the School Resource Officer (SRO), was informed after the victim and her mother visited the school this morning. They reported that 17-year-old Gavin Hamilton had been dating the victim for three months before their recent breakup. On April 1, as they were getting off the bus at Captain Shreve High School, Hamilton approached the victim and began to punch her.

Deputy Rivera located Hamilton and questioned him after informing him of his rights under the Miranda warning. During the questioning, Hamilton admitted to punching the victim. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked for battery against a dating partner.
