Caddo deputies arrested a wanted man in North Caddo on Thursday evening, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

Just after 6 p.m. on Thursday, CPSO patrol deputies received a tip that James Ray Culotta, 55, who had a warrant for domestic abuse battery with strangulation, was seen in the 6500 block of Green Briar Lane in North Caddo. When deputies arrived at the scene, Culotta got into a vehicle and attempted to leave the area. The deputies quickly caught up with him, but he was able jumped out of the vehicle and ran into Twelve Mile Bayou. Patrol officers established a perimeter to contain the situation, with assistance from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and Life Air Rescue. They located Culotta and were able to arrest him without incident. Caddo Fire Districts 1 and 7 were also on the scene to check on Culotta. After being evaluated by the fire department, he was returned to CPSO's custody.

Culotta was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked for the aforementioned warrant and for resisting an officer.

A big shout-out to our deputies, the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Life Air Rescue, and Fire Districts 1 and 7 for doing an excellent job in capturing this fugitive.
