Three wire Bandits arrested in a joint operation with BPSO
According to Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr, three men, two from Bossier Parish and one from Caddo Parish, have been arrested for stealing and selling thousands of dollars worth of copper wire from AT&T job sites.
Jermaine Johns, 46, was taken into custody on April 11, following a joint investigation by the Caddo and Bossier Parish Sheriff's Offices into wire thefts occurring in both parishes. CPSO Investigator Chris Morgan received a tip about three individuals stealing copper wire from AT&T job sites. In collaboration with BPSO investigators, search warrants for the suspects' residences were obtained and executed simultaneously within their respective jurisdictions. Investigators discovered AT&T copper wire remnants and associated tools at all locations.
Johns was transported from his residence on the 1800 block of Anna Street in Shreveport, LA, to the detective's office, where he was informed of his Miranda rights. After being told, he admitted to selling the stolen copper wire for cash. The total value of the copper wire stolen from the job sites exceeded $10,000.
Johns was subsequently arrested and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on one count of illegal possession of stolen things. The other two suspects, Jessie Winnfield and Fredrick Hicks from Princeton, Louisiana, were also arrested by BPSO investigators.
