The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, in South Caddo Parish. The purpose of the checkpoint is to raise awareness about impaired driving and to implement enforcement measures to apprehend and remove such drivers from the roads, preventing potential harm to themselves and others.

According to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, the number of impaired drivers involved in accidents has decreased, but there is still much work to be done to completely eliminate impaired drivers from our roadways. Funding for this checkpoint is provided through a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
