Caddo sheriff's detectives arrested three men for producing counterfeit bills and passing them on to unsuspecting Shreveport businesses.

Gary Weems, 37, and Wayne Rice, 34, both of Keithville, and Jessie Vela, 38, who lists no address, were arrested for forgery and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center by Sheriff's Det. Bobby Herring of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.
 
Weems and Rice are accused of printing counterfeit $20 bills at their residence in the 900 block of Barron Road. Later, along with Vela, they exchanged the bills at a local gas station and a bar.

Fifteen counterfeit bills have been confiscated so far. The investigation is continuing.
