Caddo Sheriff's deputies are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred earlier this morning, July 28, in South Caddo Parish, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr. 

The incident occurred shortly after 4:00 AM on the railroad tracks along Norris Ferry Road, just south of Overton Brooks Road, outside Shreveport, Louisiana. Deputies reported that witnesses saw a man on the tracks as a train was approaching. The train attempted to stop but was unable to do so in time, resulting in a fatal collision with the individual.

The crash is currently under investigation, and the victim's name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
