The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office invites the public to attend a community safety forum, Behind the Screen: The Importance of Online Safety, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, located at 8910 Jewella Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71118.

Special guest speaker Amy Bloxom, mother of Justin Bloxom and a community advocate, will share her story and her ongoing work to combat sexual predators while educating the community about the dangers of the internet.

Attendees will learn practical tips to help protect themselves and their loved ones online, including why you should never meet up with someone you met online, the importance of thinking before you click, remembering to log out when you’re done, and making sure you know who your kids are communicating with online.

Registration is now open. To reserve your spot, contact Deputy Vernita Williams at (318) 681-0869 or vernita.williams@caddosheriff.org.
