A man from Caddo Parish was arrested for drug charges following a traffic stop in North Caddo Parish early this morning, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.

Shortly after 12 AM on September 8, CPSO Patrol Deputy Ty Hayes initiated a traffic stop on a dark-colored sedan in the 8100 block of Kingwood Drive, just outside Blanchard, LA, due to a traffic violation. Upon approaching the driver, 24-year-old Jocquan Furlow, Deputy Hayes detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After informing Jocquan of his Miranda rights, he admitted to the location of the marijuana inside the car. 

Deputy Hayes discovered nearly half a pound (221.4 grams) of suspected marijuana, along with digital scales, in the vehicle. Additionally, $2,076 in cash was found. Jocquan Furlow was arrested and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on charges of distribution of Schedule I marijuana.
