On September 5th, CPSO patrol deputies conducted proactive patrols in the Blanchard area. At approximately 4:30 PM, Sgt. Justin Sunquist from C Team stopped a 2005 Honda Accord for a traffic violation at the intersection of North Market and North Port Boulevard.

During a brief investigation, Deputy Christan Dickey and K9 "Rougie" searched the vehicle and discovered a handgun that had been reported stolen by the Ruston Police Department. Additionally, a small quantity of suspected marijuana was seized from inside the vehicle.

Deputy John Campbell, also from C Team, arrested the passenger of the vehicle, Bernard Moses Jr., age 25, from Shreveport, for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm.

Moses was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the aforementioned charges.
