Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr. has announced that the Caddo Sheriff's Office will host a program called C.H.O.I.C.E. (Choosing Healthy Options Instead of Criminal Engagement) for young adults aged 12 to 17.

The class is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Relations and Crime Prevention Office located at 1501 Corporate Drive, Shreveport, LA 71107.

This program aims to support youth who are at risk, have faced disciplinary issues at school, or have arrest records. Our goal is to educate young people on how to avoid infractions, understand the consequences of risky or illegal behavior, and recognize positive alternatives along with effective decision-making strategies.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office acknowledges the increase in fighting, vaping with THC, weapon possession, and gun violence over the years, which has significantly impacted our youth and their future. The class is free to attend. For more information, please contact Deputy Vernita Williams at 318-681-0869.
