CPSO seeks info in hit and run

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is requesting help in locating a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident with a pedestrian, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

On Friday, September 26, 2025, between 11:15 PM and 11:30 PM, a pedestrian was walking on the shoulder of Highway 173, also known as Shreveport-Blanchard Road, near Smith Lane, when he was struck by a vehicle.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored, four-door truck equipped with multiple lights, including yellow lights on the sides, traveling at a high speed. The truck crossed the centerline and collided with the pedestrian. Unfortunately, the witnesses were unable to note the license plate number. After the incident, the truck continued south toward Shreveport.

The pedestrian was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport at 1501 Kings Highway, where he suffered injuries from the collision that ultimately led to his death.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please call the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Non-Emergency number at 318-675-2170 or Caddo/Shreveport Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
