On November 2, at approximately 4:10 PM, the Caddo Sheriff's Patrol Division, along with Caddo Fire District 3 and the Greenwood Police Department, responded to a single-vehicle crash on Elysian Fields Road, just south of Highway 80, as stated by Sheriff Henry Whitehorn.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a 1990s model Ford Mustang off the shoulder of the roadway. The Mustang had been traveling south on Elysian Fields Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, crossed the center line, and left the roadway. The vehicle rolled over, ejecting both occupants. The passenger was thrown from the car and sustained moderate injuries, while the driver was ejected and became trapped underneath the vehicle. Fire department personnel, along with the Greenwood Police, worked quickly to rescue the driver. He was transported to Ochsner/LSU Health at 1501 Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA, where medical staff pronounced the driver deceased.

The crash is still under investigation.
