Workshop Teaches Youth How to Handle Peer Pressure and Conflict

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a Peer-to-Peer and Conflict Resolution Workshop for youth ages 10 to 18 on Monday, November 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport.

The one-day workshop will give pre-teens and teens practical tools to resolve conflict and to handle peer pressure in positive ways. Participants will take part in real-life scenarios designed to build communication skills, encourage teamwork, and promote better decision-making at school, at home, and in the community.

Topics include:

Understanding common causes of conflict, such as miscommunication, stress, and disagreements
Developing peer pressure coping strategies
Learning effective ways to respond to conflict through respect and communication
