On November 14th, shortly before 5:30 PM, tragedy struck the town of Vivian when one of its police officers was shot and killed in the line of duty. Law enforcement agencies from surrounding areas quickly responded to assist in this heartbreaking event, helping with the apprehension of the suspect and providing support to the deputies and officers involved in the traumatic incident. This demonstrates the strong bond of brotherhood among our law enforcement officers in this area.

Sheriff Whitehorn would like to express gratitude to all agencies and law enforcement officers who paused their activities to rush to the scene. Without your assistance, this situation could have had a far worse outcome.
