CPSO Welcomes Families to Safety Town for Holiday Events
For the second year, Sheriff’s Safety Town will open its doors to families during December for a month filled with holiday activities. This year’s theme is Sheriff’s Whoville and includes three events inspired by the movie, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. All of the festivities will be hosted at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71118.
Letters to Santa is the first holiday event kicking off the season at Safety Town. It will be held on Sunday, December 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. Children are invited to write letters to Santa while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies inside Sheriff’s Whoville. Letters will be delivered to the North Pole and families will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa. In the spirit of giving, the Community Relations and Crime Prevention Unit will select items from Santa’s wish list to help make several children’s holiday wishes come true. Everyone is encouraged to wear Christmas attire.
Movie Night in Sheriff’s Whoville takes place on Friday, December 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Families can put on their favorite pajamas and enjoy a movie night featuring How the Grinch Stole Christmas as Safety Town transforms into a winter-themed Whoville.
Families can come out and have a special holiday meal at Safety Town. Dinner in Sheriff’s Whoville is Saturday, December 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. CPSO will be serving Christmas breakfast for dinner with pancakes and toppings, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Santa will also be available throughout the evening for holiday photos.
